Gustavo Casir

Co-Founder, AVC Turing

I’ve always been drawn to the spaces where things don’t fit neatly into boxes—where law, strategy, business, and human behavior collide. Even before graduating law school early at 22, I was fascinated by the creative edge of cross-border transactions. That intersection where cultures meet, systems are stretched, and elegant solutions emerge—that’s where I’ve felt most at home.

For over 30 years, I’ve advised companies, funds, institutions, and investors navigating that space—across M&A, capital markets, restructurings, and international contracts. I started in Buenos Aires, shaped by a global mindset, then deepened my tools through finance and business studies in the U.S., becoming a partner at a major law firm by 30. At Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, I worked closely with some of the sharpest legal and financial minds on sophisticated domestic and cross-border deals.

What’s stayed with me is this: the best solutions rarely follow a straight line. I’ve always been drawn to lateral thinking, to exploring what others overlook, to building structures that unlock—not limit—opportunity. But ideas, no matter how clever, mean little without people. I deeply value the human factor—teams built on trust, diverse perspectives, and the kind of collaboration where everyone makes the work better.

That mindset led me to co-found AVC Turing, together with partners who share the same drive for clarity, rigor, and innovation. Our mission is to give sophisticated investors clean, secure access to private tech assets that are typically out of reach. My role is to ensure that everything we build—from fund structures to acquisition pathways—holds up to scrutiny, aligns with strategic goals, and creates long-term value. But above all, that it’s built by people who know how to work together.

Outside of AVC Turing, I remain a partner at my law firm covering the Americas. I also run Casir dos Santos, our family winery in Mendoza, where I split my time between vineyards and wine-making. When I’m not working, I spend time with my big family, lifelong friends—and with history books. I’ve always believed that understanding where we come from helps us see farther, especially when building for the future.
